He is a consultant for R&D and toxicology. During his career, he has been involved in projects that have led to new in vitro models and methods for assessing the safety and efficacy of chemicals, cosmetics, medical devices and drugs.
As convenor of working group 8 of ISO technical committee 194 (ISO/TC-194/WG8) and chairman of the French AFNOR commission for biocompatibility of medical devices, he was responsible for drafting and publishing ISO standards 10993-23 for irritation, 10993-10 for skin sensitization and ISO TS11796 for qualification of in vitro methods. He is as well an OECD expert for skin sensitization and define approaches.
Strongly committed to the recognition of alternative methods to animal experimentation, he is involved in several university courses and organizes practical training to the implementation of validated methods based on the use of reconstructed human tissues.
