Ron Brown is a board-certified toxicologist with over 35 years of experience in regulatory toxicology and human health risk assessment. As the founder and director of Risk Science Consortium, LLC, he provides expert consultation and training in toxicological risk assessment and computational toxicology.

During a distinguished 25-year tenure at the U.S. FDA, Ron served as the Senior Toxicologist responsible for developing and reviewing risk assessments for extractable and leachable (E&L) compounds in medical devices. He also led the Laboratory of Biological Risk Assessment, where he conducted pivotal research to reduce uncertainty in safety evaluations and mentored staff on advanced risk assessment procedures.

A recognized authority in international standards, Ron was the long-standing convener of ISO TC194 WG11, directing the development and revision of ISO 10993-17. He has held several key leadership roles, including Co-chair of the AAMI Biological Evaluation Committee and past President of both the SOT Medical Device and Combination Products Specialty Section and the SRA Dose-Response Specialty Group. Prior to joining the FDA, he served as a Senior Associate at the ILSI Risk Science Institute.
