Ir. Dr. Sasikala Devi Thangavelu, Vice President of the Society of Medical and Biological Engineering Malaysia (MSMBE)
and Chief Executive Officer of MDDEV Sdn. Bhd., is a distinguished Professional Biomedical Engineer and internationally
recognised authority in medical device regulation and healthcare technology management with over 37 years of experience.
A former Director at the Medical Device Authority (MDA), where she led the development of Malaysia's Medical Device Act 2012 (Act 737),
and a Medical Device Regulatory Consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), she currently serves as Convenor of ISO/TC 210/WG7
on Good Engineering Maintenance Management (2024–2027) — the ISO technical working group responsible for developing international standards
governing healthcare technology management and biomedical engineering maintenance systems worldwide.

She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (PE-17298), and brings to this forum a rare convergence of regulatory leadership, international standards authorship, and frontline industry practice across Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
