Dr Robyn Pyne is the Principal Lecturer in Logistics and Maritime Management at Liverpool John Moores University, where she leads their BSc (Hons) and MSc programmes in this subject area.
Robyn has worked as a maritime lecturer since 2013 at Plymouth University, Dalian Maritime University, London Metropolitan University, and Cardiff University. She has over ten years’ experience leading BSc and MSc programmes in UK higher education. Her teaching specialisation is port strategy and development, port and maritime regulation, and research methodology.
Robyn holds an HND in Merchant Vessel Operations, BSc (Hons) Maritime Business and Maritime Law, MSc Social Research, and PhD International Shipping and Logistics. She completed her MSc and PhD with Economic and Social Research Council funding. She was based in Dalian for the duration of her PhD in their International Maritime Conventions Research Centre, where she provided support with translation and dissemination of IMO working group papers, and the delivery of an MSc in Maritime Safety and Environmental Management for civil servants from the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration. During this time she also began working for the British Council as an Education Consultant and studying Mandarin Chinese.
