Profile
Dr. Maarten Staal has almost 15 years experience at BASF ranging from research in performance materials to application technology in the agriculture sector. After earning his MSc in chemical engineering and PhD in polymer chemistry, Maarten Staal joined BASF in 2006 as laboratory manager in polymer research in Germany. In 2009, he was tasked with setting up and leading an application technology and delivery optimization lab for BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division in the US. With the acquisition of Becker Underwood in 2013, he became part of the R&D integration team and continued his work in Germany as R&D portfolio integration manager. In 2015, he established the application lab for BASF’s nitrogen management portfolio and is currently heading the N-Management technical sales team.
