Catrinel Turcanu (she/her) is a senior researcher with a PhD in applied sciences from Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), in the field of multi-criteria decision analysis. Since 2010 she heads the research group Science, Technology and Society, at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK CEN, Belgium. She has more than 25 years’ experience in research on societal aspects of nuclear technologies and exposures to ionising radiation, and related decision-making processes. She has an interest in emerging technologies, sustainable environmental remediation, circular approaches to NORM management, stakeholder and public involvement processes, and policy support tools. She chaired the IAEA-ENVIRONET MAESTRI project on Integrated Approaches for the Management of Environmental Site Remediation Processes.
