Ms Islem Amri is a General Engineer in Industrial Biology with a Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology and over 18 years of experience in environmental and food microbiology at the National Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (CNSTN), Tunisia. She works at the Laboratory of Biotechnologies and Nuclear Techniques, where she applies microbiology and nuclear techniques to environmental protection, focusing on bioremediation of contaminated sites. She is also co‑leading the One Health platform at CNSTN. She is Principal Investigator of an IAEA research project on bioremediation of radionuclides, hydrocarbons and heavy metals in polluted water and soils from oil extraction areas, and has contributed to publications, international projects, conferences and student supervision.
