Dr. Rahaf Ajaj
Dr. Rahaf Ajaj is a highly esteemed researcher and educator who has made significant contributions to the field of radiation safety, environmental sciences, sustainability, and climate change. As an Associate Professor at the College of Health Science, Abu Dhabi University, Dr. Ajaj has demonstrated expertise in her field by publishing numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, presenting her research findings at prestigious conferences worldwide, and teaching courses in environmental health and radiation safety. Before joining Abu Dhabi University, Dr. Ajaj worked as a Health Physicist at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation in the UAE.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Ajaj is an active volunteer and holds leadership positions in organizations such as the UAE Climate Change Research Network (CCRN) and Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE). Dr. Ajaj's contributions to these organizations have been instrumental in promoting sustainable energy practices and raising awareness about the impact of climate change on the environment and public health. Dr. Ajaj's expertise and contributions in her field have earned her numerous awards and recognitions. Overall, Dr. Ajaj's work continues to have a significant impact on advancing our understanding of environmental sustainability and radiation safety, and her contributions are widely recognized by her peers and colleagues.

Experienced radiation protection expert in several industrial sectors. Worked for major oil and gas companies in Middle East, developed an experience of 17 years in practical field work, auditing, designing procedures & safe practices for radiation protection including training programs and safety Manuals. My expertise is extended in several fields including industrial radiography, TENORM, transportation and security of radioactive sources. National and international Expert in radiological monitoring of scrap metal, NORM (phosphate, oil, thermal waters, etc.) Contact point (AIEA) for INSSP and NUSIMS in nuclear security. Member of the National Team of the Drafting regulation of the Nuclear Law as responsible of the field management of radioactive waste and NORM and International Expert in nuclear security and safety ( ImPACT, RISS, INSSP, InServ…)

Worked as an Assistant Prof. of Radiation and Nuclear Physics for Umm Al-Qura University for 3 years, 7 years for NAUSS, KSA, as an assistant prof. of nuclear security and vice dean of College of Forensic Sciences, 5 years as an assistant dean of the Faculty of Science, assistant professor of nuclear and radiation physics, and the chair of the Applied Physics Department of TTU, Jordan, and 10 years as a researcher on radiation safety for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jordan. Published more than 50 refereed papers and 3 books, more than 60 papers at international conferences on nuclear energy and its applications, and more than 100 Training Courses, workshops, Lectures, and Presentations.

Eng. Olivier Aranjo has an extensive experience of 20 years in Europe and the Middle East, in leadership positions spanning technical, consulting and management roles.
Practicing in the Middle East for a decade, he has a proven track record in project management, team leadership, quality management and risk management across the energy, healthcare and defense sectors, where NORM and TENORM are identified and managed as a source of hazards, particularly in the Oil and Gas Industry.
