The presence of NORM during oil and gas exploration and extraction has been identified as a source of hazards to be taken into account since the 1970s.Although most of the key players in the Oil and Gas Industry have implemented appropriate NORM management strategies, there are still some plants that need to set up everything from scratch.
This presentation details the challenges faced in creating and implementing a comprehensive system to address NORM-related risks on such a site.

The NORM & TE-NORM decontamination from the theoretical and technical point of view during production of oil and gas in an Egyptian oil-field. To improve the existing decontamination techniques used in decontamination of NORM facilities to minimize the produced waste as much as possible, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed techniques by measuring the NORM existence level before and after decontamination process.
