Brooke Olson is an Environmental Scientist III with the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality, bringing 12 years of regulatory experience in Radioactive Materials and TENORM. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiological Technology from the University of Mary.
Brooke has developed extensive expertise in Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (TENORM). She has worked closely with TENORM transporters and played a key role in licensing North Dakota’s first TENORM waste disposal landfill. Since the implementation of the state’s Radiological Health TENORM rules in 2016, she has been actively involved in licensing and conducting inspections of TENORM processing facilities, fixed and mobile decontamination units, disposal sites, and remediation projects.
