Justin McKee is a nationally known, acknowledged expert on the handling, remediation, and decontamination of NORM and NORM-contaminated facilities. After spending 17 years as a Health Physicist and field manager overseeing the decontamination and decommissioning of NORM facilities, he recently joined enCore Energy, a Texas-based uranium mining company as the company’s Radiation Safety Officer where he is responsible for environmental monitoring, sampling and employee health and safety at the company’s Rosita in-situ leach mine in South Texas. Prior to joining enCore Energy, Mr. McKee was the Corporate Health Physicist and NORM Services Manager for IKON Environmental Solutions where he was responsible for project management, radiological assessment, personnel training, and program development for the company.

Mr. McKee will address the similarities and the differences in dealing with health and safety requirements, and personnel and environmental issues for a uranium mining facility versus a NORM-related facility.
