Profile

Kayla Cockerline is an undergraduate chemistry student and research assistant at UT Austin in the Nuclear Engineering Teaching Lab. Her work is in nuclear and environmental chemistry, involving techniques such as analysis of gamma ray spectroscopy results and safety in handling radioactive materials. She recently finished an internship with Clean Harbors learning about the characteristics and environmental safety procedures concerning chemical waste. Kayla plans to study abroad in the spring, gaining more international research experience, and pursue a career in nuclear chemistry and research after graduation.
