Kevin Myers works is the TCEQ Radioactive Materials Division’s technical specialist. In this role, he provides oversight and direction as the program’s senior health physicist while also representing the program at various conferences and to certain external stakeholders. Mr. Myers addresses complex and novel regulatory and technical issues related to low level radioactive waste, in situ uranium recovery, and radiological matters as they pertain to the TCEQ underground injection control program.
Mr. Myers spent nearly ten years in the private sector as a health physicist prior to joining the Radioactive Materials Division. He has provided technical guidance, oversight, and planning for decontamination and decommissioning projects; served as the radiation safety officer for industrial facilities and service organizations; and supervised radiation protection work and radioactive waste management under varied radiological conditions. He received his Bachelor of Science in physics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he interned in the radiation safety office and completed graduate coursework in health physics.
