Mel B. Hebert. Mr. Hebert is an Environmental Health Physicist with over 30 years of experience in the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Industry. Mel has spent over 27 years of his career directly associated with the Oil & Gas NORM Industry. He received his BS and MS degrees in Nuclear Science/Radiation Protection from Louisiana State University in the early 90s with an emphasis in NORM in the Oil & Gas Industry. Mel is also a Marine Corps Veteran of the Persian Gulf War where he served as a platoon commander and Nuclear, Biological & Chemical warfare specialist. Mel possesses a comprehensive background in Regulatory Compliance and Radiation Safety derived from serving in State Agencies, as a Corporate Radiation Safety Officer, a Radiation Laboratory Manager, a Technical Services Director and a Health Physics Consultant managing multiple radioactive material licenses and permits for state and federal agencies. He currently owns and operates A-Bear Consult LLC.
