Mr. Brown is a board-certified health physicist with over 50 years of nuclear industry experience. He is an elected Life Fellow of both the National Health Physics Society and of Waste Management Symposium Inc. He has worked as a health physicist and nuclear engineer throughout the US commercial uranium fuel cycle and for the US Department of Energy’s nuclear weapons program and has published numerous peer reviewed technical papers on occupational and public exposure associated with uranium mining and processing facilities and NORM in extractive industries (oil, gas, rare earth mining). Recently was task manager for US EPA industry wide assessments of exposure potential associated with non-conventional oil and gas extraction and rare earth mining and processing and has been the agency authorized radiation safety officer for a rare earth mining R & D laboratory.
