Joanne Read is the Executive Vice President and Chief Planning and Development Officer for The Ottawa Hospital. Joanne is responsible for leading redevelopment, facilities management and emergency operations, including the development and implementation of strategic master program and capital plans for spaces over 5 million square feet. In this capacity, she has led over $500 million in redevelopment as well as contributed to significant renewal of inpatient, outpatient and surgical programs. She is currently leading the development of the new Civic Campus. Joanne joined The Ottawa Hospital in 2009 and has more than 20 years of leadership experience managing operations and financial areas in the private sector. Joanne is recognized for her exceptional leadership and ability to form strong networks and strategic alliances with the community. Joanne participates actively in the education and support of future leaders through her involvement with multiple academic institutions and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. She also leads and participates in several regional and local initiatives related to redevelopment, operational planning, and emergency management. Joanne holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa and has received her Certified Management Accounting designation and Black Belt Certification – Six Sigma.
