In January 2024, Jérémie Emond joined Public Services and Procurement Canada as Director General, Real Property Disposals, with the objective of reducing the federal portfolio of surplus properties. This program has a significant impact on Canada's contribution to providing additional properties for residential redevelopment while reducing the running costs of maintaining these properties in the federal inventory. From 2021 to 2024, he held the position of Director General of Real Property and Environment at Natural Resources Canada. He was responsible for the proper management of the real property portfolio and its related resources. He was also responsible for asset management and environmental management and sustainable development programs. It was supported by a specialized and diverse workforce spread across Canada. From 2019 to 2021, he held the position of Senior Director of Facilities at the Correctional Service of Canada, where he oversaw portfolio planning (real property), management of office space and real estate transactions, delivery of the construction program and the portfolio of electronic security systems. From 2016 to 2019, he held the position of Director of Defence Portfolio Planning (Real Property). He is responsible for planning military installations, planning office space, real property transactions, managing real estate information, analyzing the portfolio's real estate performance and files related to oil and gas activities on Defence facilities. In 2016, he retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after more than 22 years of service in which he served in many capacities. He has worked in various organizations across Canada and abroad. Among other things, he held the position of Commanding Officer of the Real Property Operations Unit (Quebec) responsible for managing the Defence portfolio for the province of Québec.
