Ryan deWinter is the Managing Director of National Bank’s Real Estate Financing Group in the National Capital Region and brings more than 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Since joining NBC in January 2021, Ryan has played a key role in the significant expansion of the region’s real estate financing business, with the portfolio growing from approximately $200 million to more than $4.5 billion and the team expanding from one to 11 members.

Prior to joining NBC, Ryan held progressively senior roles within the commercial real estate groups at TD and BMO, in addition to gaining hands-on industry experience with an Ottawa-based construction and development firm. His career has taken him across Canada, with real estate financing experience spanning the Maritimes, the National Capital Region, and British Columbia. This diverse background has provided him with a broad perspective on real estate markets, financing structures, development, and the evolving needs of clients across different regions.

With the Bank’s commitment to integrating ESG principles into its financing activities, Ryan has championed sustainable financing initiatives within the Region. Under his leadership, the team has certified over $800 million in green financings while supporting and guiding clients throughout their sustainability journey.
