Joe Hamza is a seasoned convenience and fuel retail executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Nouria Energy, where he has played an instrumental role in driving the company’s multi-regional expansion, operational excellence, and brand evolution since joining in 2015.
Throughout his career, Joe has been fortunate to be part of the leadership teams of two distinctly different, award-winning retail organizations. Before joining Nouria, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Tedeschi Food Shops, where he led the company’s retail and foodservice divisions and helped develop innovative sales, marketing, foodservice, and branding strategies that positioned Tedeschi as one of New England’s most respected convenience retailers. During his tenure, Tedeschi was named Convenience Store Decisions’ 2012 Chain of the Year and received CSP’s 2014 Leaders in Foodservice Award, recognizing the company’s innovation and best-in-class approach to foodservice.
At Nouria, Joe has helped guide the organization through a period of significant growth and transformation while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence, developing people, innovation, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Nouria was named CStore Decisions’ 2022 Chain of the Year and has earned national recognition for the quality of its retail execution and customer experience, including achieving the #1 ranking in CSP’s national Customer Experience Audit in both 2024 and 2025.
Joe considers the opportunity to contribute to two award-winning organizations among the most rewarding experiences of his career. Those experiences have reinforced his belief that sustained success is built through strong cultures, talented and empowered people, a willingness to continuously evolve, and an unwavering commitment to the customer.
Joe’s influence in the industry extends beyond his executive roles. He has contributed to a wide range of industry and non-industry publications and is a frequent speaker at NACS events and government forums on key issues impacting the convenience, fuel, and foodservice sectors. He previously chaired the NACS Education Committee and has served in advisory roles with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), NACS-United Fresh, and Kraft Foods.
He currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the New England Convenience Store & Energy Marketer Association (NECSEMA) and the National Advisory Group (NAG), where he continues to advocate for the advancement of the convenience and energy sectors.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joe is most proud of his family. He is a devoted husband to his wife and the love of his life, Allison, and a proud father to his son, Daniel, and daughters, Scarlett and Sophia.
