Senior Director, Global Public Affairs at Mondelēz International

Can Buharali is leading Mondelēz  International’s Global Public Affairs since December 2020 and is responsible for setting the global agenda for priority issues and advocacy opportunities, balancing long-term issues and immediate barriers with potential business disruption. Can is with Mondelēz  International for the past 10 years and prior his actual role he was leading Corporate and Government Affairs for Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa (AMEA) Region from Singapore.

Buharali started his career as a diplomat with the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held positions in Ankara, Brussels and Tehran. He then shifted to consultancy and was the managing partner of an Istanbul based consultancy for about 10 years. Can also lectured at university on “Economic integration and the role of the European Union”.
