Profile
Miguel Zepeda is a three-time entrepreneurial fintech executive with more than 20 years of experience scaling high-growth businesses at the intersection of banking, payments, SaaS, and technology. He has built and led platforms from inception through profitability, driving revenue growth, full P&L ownership, and strategic expansion for both startups and Fortune 1000 companies. With deep international operating experience, Miguel brings a global perspective across North America, Latin America, and Europe, and is a recognized advocate for financial inclusion through innovation.
Currently, Miguel serves as Innovation and Transformation Managing Director at National Bankers Association, a community bank focused trade group. In this role, he leads technology transformation initiatives accelerated by a $13 M tech fund for 200 banks across the US.
In parallel, Miguel is Co-Founder at Complify AI, where he advises fintechs, banks, and SaaS companies on growth strategy, product-led go-to-market execution, and AI-driven compliance solutions. Through this work, he has helped launch new digital banking products, secured strategic funding, and scaled revenue engines across embedded finance and B2B fintech platforms.
Previously, Miguel was Head of Consumer Banking at PayActiv, a Silicon Valley–based earned wage access leader, where he held full P&L responsibility for the digital bank and payment network. He doubled deposits in under a year, increased annual recurring revenue by 150%, materially reduced processing and fulfillment costs, and led rapid partner launches with leading payroll and workforce platforms.
Before PayActiv, Miguel spent nearly a decade at The Brink’s Company, where he was promoted multiple times to become Managing Director and General Manager of Brink’s Money. He founded and scaled the business from zero to approximately $4 billion in deposits and $50 million in revenue, building a national digital banking platform and multiple B2B payment products. Earlier at Brink’s, he also led international digital payments expansion, doubling revenues and significantly increasing transaction volumes across multiple markets.
Earlier in his career, Miguel held senior corporate development and M&A roles at América Móvil, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, where he supported large-scale expansion initiatives across Latin America, including investments exceeding $500 million.
Beyond his executive career, Miguel serves on nonprofit and industry boards. He is currently an Executive Board Member and Audit Committee Director at ChildFund International and has previously served on boards and advisory roles for the Innovative Payments Association, Antevenio, and other fintech and technology organizations.
Miguel is an Executive Program alumnus of Stanford Graduate School of Business, holds an MBA from NYU Stern, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife and two children, and enjoys biking, hiking, and sailing when time allows.
