Alastair Cotton is an accomplished professional with 18 years of experience in the events industry, primarily working on pharma events. Today, he leads Global Meetings Management and Technology within Gilead's Global Congresses and Events team. In this role, he leads strategic global programmes, delivering technology and operational solutions that drive performance and efficiency across the organisation. This includes activities such as product ownership for Veeva Events Management at Gilead, management of the congress attendee allocation platform and leadership of the new Meetings Management Centre of Excellence.

Alastair joined Gilead in 2021, where he first led global congress operations for the Commercial business function. Prior to that he was Senior Manager of GSK's Meetings Management Centre of Excellence for five years, managing GSK's global SMMP activity. Before his time at Gilead and GSK, he held different roles at a specialist pharma event management agency for 9 years, supporting event programmes for multiple industry clients.
