Ingrid VanderElst is one of Canada's leading life sciences industry practitioners and is co-chair of the Fasken Ontario region’s Life Sciences group. She regularly assists life sciences companies with regulatory, commercial and intellectual property matters. Clients include pharmaceutical, natural health product, medical device, cosmetic and food manufacturers.

Ingrid’s regulatory expertise encompasses the conduct of clinical trials, product licensing, establishment licensing, marketing and distribution, recalls, drug pricing (including PMPRB compliance) and reimbursement issues, including formulary listing. She regularly drafts and negotiates complex commercial agreements, including license agreements, research agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, distribution agreements and product listing agreements. She advises on intellectual property issues, such as patent listing under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations and availability of data protection. Ingrid also supports regulatory and intellectual property due diligence for life sciences companies and advises on the transfer of regulatory and intellectual property assets in connection with corporate transactions.
