Celia Eckert is General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Compliance Officer for Xencor, Inc., a publicly traded, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company pioneering treatments for oncology and autoimmune diseases. With over 25 years in the biotech industry, Celia thrives in her role as a legal generalist and trusted advisor, blending strategic insight with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Celia’s legal career began at Jones Day’s Washington, D.C. office and she continued in Big Law for 5 years before transitioning to in-house roles (after taking a period off to focus on her young family). She’s been at Xencor for seven years and finds fulfillment in supporting the company’s mission to develop innovation with potential to directly impact patients’ lives. Celia earned her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from the UC, College of the Law, San Francisco.
