Akshay (Ash) Shah is currently a Managing Director at New York Life Investors. He heads the London office where he oversees their Pan-European business. He leads a team of investment professionals which is responsible for assets across a range of sectors and geographies with AUM of around $10 billion.

Prior to joining New York Life Investors, Akshay spent almost 20 years at Barclays Capital where he was a Managing Director and led the European Private Placement team. His work included the origination, structuring and distribution of over $45 billion of European debt Private Placements, including a number of market defining transactions. He played an integral role in Barclays becoming a consistent Global top 3 league table performer in the Private Placement market.

Akshay holds a BEng (Hons) degree from Imperial College London and is an Associate of the City and Guild Institute.
