Ewan Macaulay joined Royal London in August 2024 as Head of Private Placements, joining from Aviva Investors. He leads Royal London’s investment efforts into the field of private credit, with a focus on insurance-friendly assets. Ewan has extensive experience in originating, underwriting, valuing, and managing private placement deals across EMEA and North America, with a focus on MA-eligible deals. Before RLAM, Ewan spent two years as Head of Private Debt Investment Specialists at Aviva Investors, and prior to that spent 11 years at MetLife Investment Management in various roles across their Private Placement platform, including Managing Director. He began his career at Fitch Ratings as a corporate ratings analyst, where he worked for seven years.
