John Hartzell is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Hawks Point Capital Partners, a New York-based asset management group focused on private credit. Hawks Point manages investments for institutional investors including insurance companies, family offices, and asset management groups. Founded in 2016, Hawks Point focuses on investment grade credit, ABS, and high yield private credit origination and structuring in the Americas and across industrial, infrastructure, renewables, project finance, consumer finance, and corporate credit.

John has spent over 30 years in the global credit markets as a Managing Director and head of credit origination and portfolio management at UBS Securities, Citigroup, Salomon Brothers, John Hancock Life Insurance, and Drexel Burnham.

John holds an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University, a BA from Franklin & Marshall College, and Executive Certificates from both Harvard Business School and Columbia University Business School. John has also been a Board President, Board member, and advisor at multiple corporate and non-profit organizations in the United States and Latin America.
