Scott Ashton is a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s capital markets group based in London. He has a corporate finance practice with emphasis on cross-border securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions and restructurings. Scott’s capital markets experience includes private placements and public offerings of debt and equity; his M&A experience encompasses public and private acquisitions, asset sales and tender offers; and his restructuring experience includes debt restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings and corporate spin-offs.

As part of Morrison & Foerster's leading private placement team, Scott has specialised expertise in representing issuers who wish to make private placements of debt securities to institutional investors.

Scott has been recognised for his capital markets expertise by legal directories including Chambers Europe and UK, Legal 500 UK and IFLR 1000. He received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from Stanford Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude with honors, from Brigham Young University.
