Armin leads US scouting activities for Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Based in Otsuka's US office in Princeton, NJ, Armin works closely with Otsuka’s scientific evaluation team to identify, evaluate and bring into Otsuka's global development pipeline new, innovative drugs that address serious medical needs in CNS disorders, renal disease, autoimmune diseases and rare genetic diseases. He played a key role in Otsuka’s recent acquisition of Jnana Therapeutics and license agreement with Ionis, both of which have broadened Otsuka’s rare disease presence from polycystic kidney disease into development stage products for phenylketonuria and ALS.

Armin received his Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the University of Tokyo. He first joined Otsuka in 2011 as part of the BD negotiation team in Japan, where he was involved in negotiations of collaboration agreements such as a global strategic alliance in the CNS space with Lundbeck.
