Profile

Cheryl is currently Senior Vice President of the U.S. Rare Disease Business Unit at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Head of U.S. Commercial Operations. In this dual role, she oversees a diversified portfolio of Rare Disease medicines spanning multiple therapeutic areas and leads the Commercial Operations organization for all of Takeda’s U.S. business across GI, Rare Disease, Plasma Derived Therapies and Neuroscience. She also serves as a member of the U.S. Executive Leadership Team.

Previously, Cheryl has held commercial leadership roles at Pfizer, EMD Serono (Merck KGaA), and Forest Pharmaceuticals (now Allergan/AbbVie), where she led a Endocrinology, HIV & Reproductive Health Business, served as the architect and General Manager for a new U.S. Biosimilars organization, and led a global Vaccines Business, among other key roles.

Cheryl has expertise ranging from development of go-to-market strategy for nascent businesses to P&L management of multi-billion-dollar portfolios. She has experience across the lifecycle of drug development and commercialization, as well as expertise driving results in a highly regulated and innovation-driven industry. She has spearheaded multiple business development deals from initiation to implementation and has led alliance partnerships with both multi-national pharmaceutical companies and small biotech organizations.

Cheryl is a purpose driven leader who is deeply committed to the needs of patient communities, optimizing employee engagement, and supporting health equity initiatives. She has long been a champion of gender equity, most recently by serving as executive chair of the Gender Parity Employee Resource Group at Takeda. She earned her MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan
