Wael Alkhalil serves as Head of Patient Access Brand Strategy & Operations for Plasma Derived Therapies (PDT) at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. In this capacity, he leads the development and execution of access strategies designed to ensure timely patient access to vital therapies. With over 15 years of extensive experience spanning specialty pharmacy, patient services, and healthcare operations, Wael has been instrumental in supporting multiple product and device launches, while establishing comprehensive support programs across a broad range of therapeutic areas including transplant, hematology, plasma-derived therapies, and neuroscience.

A seasoned expert in cross-functional collaboration, Wael drives alignment across diverse teams to enable precise product launches, optimize timelines, and deliver pragmatic, patient-centric solutions. Prior to his current role, he directed Takeda’s Transplant and Hematology Patient Services programs and served as Director of Strategic Policy and Business Operations, where he provided senior leadership with strategic guidance on healthcare affordability and policy.

Wael’s dedication to advancing the profession is further evidenced by his service on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association. He remains committed to fostering innovation and systemic impact to enhance patient access and outcomes.
