Claire Santamaria is the VP, Operational Strategy for Oxford Properties’ Canadian business. Focused on the future state, she helps leaders across three asset classes (office, multi-residential, retail) and three functional areas (asset management, development, leasing & operations) connect daily execution with where the business needs to be tomorrow. Claire is a partner, advisor and facilitator, delivering recommendations that support a sustainable, optimized operating model and inclusive culture. Her current position leverages Claire’s myriad of experience over her ~20-year career in CRE. During the pandemic, she stepped into the role of Head of Human Resources which involved sitting on Oxford’s Executive Committee and chairing its global People & Culture Committee. Dedicating herself to the employee experience while navigating new workplace practices prioritizing health, safety & wellbeing. Prior to this, Claire managed Yorkdale, Canada’s premier shopping destination. Overseeing the property’s $3b operating performance, leading its +200-person team and award-winning community engagement efforts. Claire has a Bachelor Arts from York University and a HR Management Business Post-Graduate Certificate from Humber College. She also volunteers as a leadership executive on the Baycrest Foundation Board.
