Sasu Sihvonen, Chief Risk Officer at Nordea Funds Ltd. is responsible for the risk management functions covering the fund management operations and ensuring that both the Board and the senior management of the company have a holistic overview of the relevant risks arising from the company’s activities.

Before joining Nordea Funds, Sasu worked 15 years at Nordea’s New York Branch leading the establishment of risk management functions for market, liquidity, information security and non-financial risks meeting U.S. regulatory and industry best practice requirements.

Sasu has worked 20+ years in banking in various business and risk roles giving him a solid understanding how a well-managed risk management framework can truly be a value-adding function supporting organizations efforts to reach their strategic targets.

Sasu holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Aalto University, as well as various industry risk and compliance certifications.
