Benjamin Walter is a Director in Allianz Global Investors’ Infrastructure Debt Investment team, based in Munich. Benjamin has worked on transactions across Europe with a focus on German-speaking markets. He has led the closing of a number of transactions in the rolling stock sector, energy storage, decentralised energy generation, airports and airport service equipment, and telecommunications. Before joining AllianzGI in 2017, Benjamin spent 4 years at BlackRock, where he joined shortly after the inception of the Infrastructure Debt team to support the build-up of the platform. His responsibilities included raising of investment capital from large insurance companies and pension funds as well as origination, due diligence, execution and monitoring of infrastructure and energy investments across a range of sectors and jurisdictions on behalf of leading institutional investors. He started his career in Deutsche Bank’s Infrastructure & Energy team focusing on advisory, structuring, due diligence and execution of infrastructure and energy transactions. Benjamin holds an MSc in Management, Diplôme de Grande École and Diplom-Kaufmann from ESCP Business School.
