Godefroy leads the CGIAR Hub for Sustainable Finance.

He has been driving global impact in food, climate smart agriculture, and carbon markets for nearly 15 years and is passionate about designing and implementing sustainable food and agriculture investments.

He co-led the design and implementation of the first-ever science-based climate smart food system fund with responsAbility AG and of innovative risk management solutions for the banking industry.

Godefroy has led projects spanning 25 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, working with clients such as the World Bank, responsAbility AG, ADB, UN, Gates Foundation, GIZ, and other public and private entities.

Previously, Godefroy worked among others at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and GIZ. He holds a PhD in Climate Policy, which focused on the reform of the EU Emissions Trading System and carbon price formation, and a Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics (LSE).
