Luca Ciavoliello is since December 2018 Team Lead in the Prudential Regulation and Accounting Section of the Directorate General Horizontal Line Supervision. He is in charge of horizontal projects related to the implementation of IFRS by the largest banks in the euro area and he is member of the relevant accounting committee of the European Banking Authority and the European Securities and Markets Authority. Before joining the ECB he was an adviser in the Regulation and Macroprudential Analysis at the Bank of Italy where he worked since 2012 dealing with accounting and supervisory reporting topics, including valuation of distressed assets and complex financial instruments. Luca started his career in 2006 at Deloitte where he worked as an external auditor of banks and pension funds in Italy.
