Peter Bannister is a senior risk, compliance, and transformation executive with two decades of leadership expertise spanning across leading financial institutions and innovative technology companies. Throughout his international risk and compliance leadership career, he has approached and solved various complex business issues and challenges, from overcoming change-resistant cultures to launching pioneering GRC programs. Peter is a trustworthy and empathic leader who works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and senior decision-makers and is known for following through on commitments and transforming GRC programs and attitudes towards risk and compliance.

In his most recent role as Co-founder at Mova he focuses on bringing age old compliance, risk, quality, and revenue problems a new solution through generative AI, helping deliver tangible value to financial and healthcare companies.Formlerly SVP fr Governance, Risk, and Compliance for MetricStream, the world’s largest independent provider of GRC apps and solutions, he advised leading financial institutions on transforming their GRC programs.Before joining MetricStream, Peter served as Fannie Mae’s Vice President, Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance Program, where he orchestrated the pioneering enterprise-wide transformation of the GRC program including overhauling, issue management, policy management, risk assessments, and first line of defense engagement.

Earlier in his career, Peter held various risk and change related roles with Genworth Financial Mortgage Insurance. Peter graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manchester. With a commitment to life-long learning, he continuously hones his executive leadership skills, including recent business dynamics, change management, and risk management courses with MIT and Harvard Business School. When not driving and protecting business missions, Peter enjoys exploring the great outdoors with his wife and 4 children as well as pursuing his passion for mountain biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, and scuba diving.
