Mrs. Vanessa Marquette, holds a law degree and an economic law degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her academic journey also took her to the United States, where she obtained an LLM from the University of Michigan Law School.
Since beginning her practice as a member of the Brussels Bar in 1995, Vanessa Marquette has specialized in Banking Law and Financial Law. Her expertise covers a broad range of areas, including Banking and Finance Law, Corporate Law, Insolvency Law, Security Interests, and Private International Law.
After practicing law at the Brussels offices of Stibbe Simont Monahan Duhot and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, she became a partner at Simont Braun in 2005. Since March 2020, she has served as a partner at Loyens & Loeff. In addition to her partnership role, she holds the position of co-head of the ESG focus group at Loyens & Loeff.
As a dedicated educator, she holds a lecturing position at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where she shares her knowledge and experience in International Financial Law within the Llm in International Business Law.
