Karina Thorn is the Vice President and Head of Nucleic Acid Research (N.A.R.) at Novo Nordisk.
Karina has a PhD in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. After working several years in Boston, US, Karina joined Novo Nordisk in 2014. Since then, she has successfully been driving research projects, portfolio innovation, and preclinical research areas via scientific, strategic, and people leadership. Furthermore, and as a result of her passion for unlocking therapeutic innovation via emerging technologies, Karina has been instrumental in establishing a broad palette of external Novo Nordisk partnerships and acquisitions.
Karina is a strong and innovative leader who has committed her career to improving the lives of millions of people worldwide living with serious chronic conditions, by unleashing creativity through her collaborative ‘United by Science’ drive and ‘transforming intracellular therapies from the few to the many’ fuel.
