Andrew Varley is Director of UBC's RNA & Formulation Core, where he leads manufacturing, analytical, and platform development efforts supporting next-generation RNA therapeutics. He established the facility and developed capabilities spanning mRNA, saRNA, and circRNA, enabling projects from early screening through large-animal studies while supporting dozens of external partners. Andrew supports global RNA therapeutics development as an Executive Committee member and Board Director of the Society for RNA Therapeutics and directs R&D initiatives focused on RNA manufacturing innovation, analytical characterization, and IVT process standards, including methods for detecting and controlling dsRNA impurities. His work accelerates translation from discovery to preclinical development.
