Annette Bak, Ph.D., MBA, leads Advanced Drug Delivery (ADD) at AstraZeneca and is part of the Pharmaceutical Sciences leadership team. Since 2016, she has advanced synthetic modalities and mRNA delivery systems, built delivery chemistry and evaluation capabilities, and led a large global department across Sweden, the UK, and the US. Previously at Amgen and Merck, she led several teams, contributed to small molecule and peptide formulations and external partnerships. Annette has over 50 publications, serves on Molecular Pharmaceutics and Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences editorial boards, and holds several patents. A dedicated AAPS volunteer, she was 2022 president and co-recipient of the 2020 Alice E. Till Women in Pharmaceutical Science Recognition.
