Pedro Morais is a leader in oligonucleotide therapeutics with over 15 years of experience. He currently serves as Preclinical Development Lead at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, driving extrahepatic siRNA programs and strategic due diligence activities. Previously, he was Scientific Director at ProQR Therapeutics, where he led the development of targeted pseudouridylation technologies to address nonsense mutations. He completed his postdoctoral training at the Technical University of Darmstadt under Prof. Göringer, specializing in RNA editing and oligonucleotide chemistry. Pedro serves on the editorial board of RNA Biology and has published extensively in leading journals, including Nucleic Acids Research, Nucleic Acid Therapeutics, and Molecular Cell, and has contributed multiple invited book chapters in the RNA field.
