The maritime industry is accustomed to responding to large scale accidents, some of which could be considered extreme. An allision with a bridge causing its collapse or wreck removals lasting many years have become recurring events for salvors, marine insurers and governments. These incidents are perhaps less extreme to those professionals dealing with them. In the public perception, however, they certainly are extreme events, and they continue to pose significant challenges to all those involved. The panelists will share with the audience their insight.
