Karin joined Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI) in May 2010 as Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for maintaining and improving the operating capability of the business, ensuring that it is underpinned by an adequate control and risk environment. Her other responsibilities include Finance, Marketing, Operations, Risk and Investor Relations functions of OMAI. Karin’s overall duties therefore allow the investment teams to focus on the efficient management and investment of client money, supported by seamless infrastructure and frameworks to ensure zero impact on P&L post execution.

Prior to joining OMAI, she was employed as Institutional Chief Operating Officer at STANLIB Asset Management where she was responsible for the asset management operations and unit pricing of all its portfolios. Karin also spent a number of years at JP Morgan Investor Services, a third party fund administrator, as Senior Operations Manager where she built extensive knowledge of asset management operations, IT environments and general best practice.

Karin is a qualified Chartered Accountant in South Africa, and is also a CFA Charterholder.
