Gareth Davies MP has been the Member of Parliament for Grantham and Bourne since he was first elected in 2019. He serves as Shadow Minister for Business and Trade and was previously Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury.
Before entering Government, Gareth was a senior executive at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a global asset manager. Over more than a decade in London, New York and Boston, he held leadership roles driving strategic growth initiatives across wealth management, institutional, and product divisions – originating and closing multi-billion-dollar mandates from global banks, sovereign wealth funds, and pension plans. He built and scaled new investment platforms, including the firm’s ESG capability, and led initiatives that expanded profitability and assets under management across transatlantic markets.
Gareth is currently a Senior Fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard University, focusing on the interface between private capital, geopolitics and public policy. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University and a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Nottingham.
