JD Vargas is a Partner at TPG, where he is a member of the TPG Rise Climate Transition Infrastructure team.

Prior to joining TPG, JD was a Partner at EQT Partners in New York as part of the EQT Infrastructure team, where he deployed capital across the energy, transportation, water, and waste management sectors. He previously worked at First Reserve, an energy and infrastructure private equity firm, with investment experience spanning utilities, transportation and logistics, telecommunications, downstream, and natural resources.

JD began his career as an analyst in the Financial Sponsors and Latin America groups at Morgan Stanley in New York.

He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the London Business School.
