Joaquin is the CEO and Founding Partner of Serena Industrial Partners. Serena focuses on the mid-market segment of infrastructure projects in Europe and currently manages 15 high-quality and diversified assets, with an aggregate EV of €2bn.

Joaquin brings nearly 20 years of experience in the infrastructure sector. Prior to founding Serena in 2019, he served as the Finance Director and CCO of Sacyr Group. During his time at Sacyr, he led the development of worth +11bn of infrastructure projects across +30 countries, combining technical expertise with a proven track record in investment performance. Some of his landmark deals include the €3.5bn sale of Testa, the €1.6bn Pedemontana Motorway Greenfield bond issuance, or the €2.5bn refinancing and restructuring of Repsol stake.

Joaquín holds a MEng (Hons) Civil Engineering with an MSc in Energy and Hydraulic Engineering, and an MBA from IMD.
