Anton Orlich

Managing Investment Director, Private Equity at CalPERS

Anton Orlich was named managing investment director for CalPERS Private Equity in 2022. He previously served at CalPERS as a portfolio manager 2013-2016. Anton’s responsibilities include overseeing the global private equity asset class’s strategies, programs, and policies. Additionally, Anton sits on the Total Fund Management, Investment Underwriting, and Operations & Administration Committees, which govern the $500 billion CalPERS portfolio. Prior to rejoining CalPERS, Anton was the Head of Alternative Investments at Kaiser Permanente, which had over $150 billion in corporate pension and foundation assets. He is a Kauffman Fellow and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Charterholder. Anton is also a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan. Anton holds a B.A. in economics, summa cum laude, from Columbia and a Ph.D. in political science from Yale.
