Carlos Mauricio Lopez joined HarbourVest in 2024 and focuses on coordinating, monitoring, and enhancing relationships with new and existing Latin American investors and consultants. Prior to joining the firm, Carlos was head of alternative investments at Afore Sura, Mexico responsible for the implementation, investment and monitoring of a private portfolio of $9 billion in commitments. His prior experience included a role at Sura Asset Management, Colombia as an investment director. Carlos received a MS in Finance from Boston College – Carroll School of Management. He also holds a degree as Financial Specialist and Management Engineer from Universidad Nacional De Colombia. Carlos speaks native Spanish, proficient in English. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
