Daniel started his career in the Latin American Corporates Group at Lehman Brothers in 2006 and its successor group at Barclays starting in 2008. During his tenure at Lehman Brothers and Barclays, he was a member of the Emerging Markets Special Situations Group (a joint venture between the Emerging Markets and Distressed/High Yield groups) where he analyzed various opportunities in debt, equity, and real estate. In 2009, he joined Macquarie Capital’s Emerging Markets Special Situation group conducting fundamental research and making trade recommendations for distressed companies across a range of sectors and regions. In 2010, Daniel joined J.P. Morgan as an Executive Director, becoming Head of Latin America Corporate Research, where he covered the oil and gas, metals and mining, pulp and paper, sugar and ethanol, and consumer sectors in Latin America. Prior to joining Emso (now Kirkoswald) in 2020, Daniel worked at Warlander Asset Management in 2016 where he was in charge of all Emerging Markets investments. Daniel earned a BS in Systems Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
